  • Spring Cleaning: How to Donate, Recycle and Reuse

Spring Cleaning: How to Donate, Recycle and Reuse

On Saturday April 13 at Le Express in Poughkeepsie, join the League of Women Voters of the Mid-Hudson Region to learn about getting rid of unwanted household goods through recycling and reuse.

Got nasty chemicals under your sink? We'll be talking about how to get them to the upcoming Household Hazardous Waste Cleanup Days in the tri-county region. We'll then discuss where to donate clothing, goods and materials. Participants will receive a handout with the upcoming HHW event dates, and a list of consignment shops and charities in the area.

After we have refreshments at Le Express, we'll be going to the wonderfully curated Simplicity Eco-Boutique next door to browse. Owner Megan Lawrence will be looking forward to meeting us, and will tell us about her business. She's a 23-year old reuse rockstar, and we're proud to have her in Poughkeepsie!

Le Express is a French restaurant located at 1820 New York 376 in Poughkeepsie. Refreshments will be available to purchase.

Please RSVP so we know how many handouts to prepare! Email cinpackback@gmail.com or phone 845-236-7288.

Special thanks to Leigh Baumann for design and creation of event flyer.
